Napoli progresses in the standings, even without playing and being spectator of this strange Sunday in times of epidemic. That sixth virtual place, between various referrals, has been effective since yesterday afternoon. The simultaneous defeats of Milan, Parma and Verona have meant that even with the recoveries still to be played on the 26th day, Napoli is sixth, in the places that lead to Europe. It had never happened since Rino Gattuso took over the team 90 days ago after the exoneration of Carlo Ancelotti, at that moment in seventh place in the standings with 7 points from the sixth.

REMUNTADA - The championship numbers say that Gattuso has done better than Ancelotti. The average points of Rino in the championship is 1.6 against 1.4 of Carlo, even if his Napoli scored a little more (1.6 against 1.54 of average goal) and suffered a little less (1 , 27 against 1.54). After the disastrous start of Ringhio with a team that was no longer such, in deep crisis (4 defeats and one victory), here is the recovery. He arrives in the second half of January with the victory in the Italian Cup against Lazio, which 5 days later followed the sensational success against Juventus. Since then Napoli has begun to find balance and self-esteem and - apart from the misstep with Lecce still at San Paolo - 5 successes have come in the league. Perhaps a more adherent comparison between the two managements can be to compare the first seven days of the outward and return journeys. At the start Ancelotti made 13 points with 4 wins, one tie and 2 defeats (Juventus and Cagliari). With Gattuso instead 15 points resulting from 5 wins and 2 defeats (Fiorentina and Lecce). And the growth of the blues is now evident. Even if between stop and postponements it is not easy to find the right concentration to take the field. The return race to Barcelona should take place next Friday in Verona and then Wednesday 18, one of those crossroads that can change the season.
